People spread around the world over thousands of years, so slow changes happened in the way people look over thousands of years as travelling across the world to find people to have children with wasn’t possible. There are also sometimes advantages to certain features – white skin burns very easily in the sun, so it’s an advantage to have darker skin in warmer countries.
