• Question: Why do misquote bites itch?

      Without looking anything up (this is what I remember…) when a mosquito bites you it actually injects you with its saliva which contains an anticoagulant – this is something that stops your blood from clotting so it can drink it easier. Bastard. Your body notices that it has this strange stuff in it that shouldn’t be there, so it tells your immune system to attack the saliva. The itching is a result of your body trying to get rid of the anticoagulant.
