• Question: What is the difference between alpackers and lamas?

      The main difference is that alpacas are smaller than llamas – they were bred for their wool, not for carrying things, so they’re woolier but not as big and strong.

      Sometimes people also use llamas to protect sheep from predators – llamas are very protective, and bigger and stronger than sheep.

      I’ve been to South America and wondered the same thing! Yes, alapacas have nicer wool but llamas are bigger and stronger. They are just as grumpy as each other 🙂
