• Question: Is it possible that there are planets like earth in other galaxies in the universe? So would they be habitable?

      Sure – if it happened once here, why not elsewhere? We still don’t know how likely it is that planets like Earth are made – out of the hundreds we’ve found so far, we haven’t found one that could keep us alive without spacesuits or technology. But we’re still looking! And so far we’ve only looked close to Earth, so if we manage to look further away we might find something.

      I think it’s possible and also likely – the thing about the Universe it that while it’s so different and variable, all matter and energy plays by the same rules. So, if the universe is huge (which is an understatement), then the chances of having something very similar to our perfect little planet (for us anyway) are pretty good! The thing about the earth is that it is habitable, so yes, earth-like planets would be habitable by our definition of what makes earth, earth!
