I’ve made a very small discovery, which was published in a paper at Easter, that a certain type of distant galaxy doesn’t have many other distant galaxies surrounding it. Not ground breaking I know but every little helps!
The stuff I worked on helped some of the Higgs results get published, so I had a hand in that discovery 🙂
On a smaller scale, I’ve discovered lots of interesting things about the way our detector works, and the way our code works, that have been useful too 🙂
I’ve been lucky and made one or two 🙂 the most recent one is about how mountain belts stop growing (because the rocks underneath are ‘healed’ by a big hot event that seals them all out and melts away the damaged bits).
