      My job has paid for me to go to telescopes in Chile and Hawaii, pretty amazing places!

      It’s amazing that I can sit here and try to understand what’s happening over thousands of years millions of light years away, or what happened billions of years ago to something trillions of times more massive than the Sun.

      Inside the LHC, we accelerate the protons so fast that the beam circulating in the tunnel for 10 hours (about average) travels more than 10 billion km – enough to go to Neptune and back!
