I’m a Scientist – 1st out is… Kate

It’s been a fantastic event so far and the scientists have worked hard, answering hundreds of questions between them. But on Friday there can only be one winner in each zone, so some of them have to go.

We are sorry to have to do this to you, but the first scientist to be evicted is…

KATE

Thanks so much for all you’ve done. We hope you’ve enjoyed taking part.

There will be evictions every day for the rest of the week, with the winner announced on Friday. Keep voting students!

Who will walk off with the prize? YOU decide!

      Hi zaineb123
Here’s an answer to a similar question I answered, hope it helps…

Haha – dragons! No, not really, but that would be cool… If you imagine a tree with no dirt around it’s roots (try pulling up a weed and looking at the roots), this is a bit like a volcano. Actually, something like a turnip would be good – the bit you eat would be like the magma chamber… The roots are tiny little streams of magma heading upwards and joining together. Sometimes these jet out to the side and they are called sills (if they are flat) and dykes (if they are upright). Exactly what all this looks like under each different volcano is very hard to tell, but we are getting a better picture all the time! I’d like to show you some pictures on the internet but they are all reeeeeeeaaaallly basic – and don’t help much. Looking at a turnip is probably your best bet! 🙂
